Thanksgiving Weekend 2008

Well, like a lot of people the holidays are my favorite time of the year. I love the hustle and bustle, the gathering of family and friends - everyone seems happy & cheerful. What is not to love?!? We usually spend Thanksgiving at my Aunt Judy's house with family and this year was no exception. My Mom flew in on Wednesday afternoon and after a well deserved mani-pedi with one of my favorite girlfriends, I met mom and we headed to Publix for our traditional grocery shopping trip to get all the supplies for cooking our share of the Thanksgiving meal.

I had planned out the recipes and got to cooking first thing Thursday morning. I do enjoy cooking however never seem to have time to... this time of year just lends itself to making time.

Jared Kraus, a friend of ours from work & a fellow Wyoming-ite, joined us this year for the festivities. We arrived at Aunt Judy's around 3pm and hung out, watched football, snacked and played domino's until dinner at 5pm. In attendance this year was my grandmother, Aunt Nancy, Mom, Aunt Judy & Uncle Stuart, Kelly, Lindsay, Mac & Laura, Bret & I, Jared, Emily & Jackson.

We always have the yummiest family dinners and our family just loves the casseroles! I often think that they are the best part of the meal! The turkey was perfect and we all ate and ate... as the evening progressed, we enjoyed more domino's & football before we indulged in pumpkin pie & coffee. I am grateful to have such a wonderful close family and could not imagine the holidays without them.
