Girls Trip to Dallas!

Emily, Kelly and I headed to Dallas this weekend to visit our grandparents (the Payne's). They have lived there for the past several years and we have not had the chance to visit them lately. Kelly and I talked about it and decided it was time to make the trip! Gratefully, our mom lives in Dallas too so we were able to make a girls weekend of it. We flew out of Orlando early on Saturday morning and landed in Dallas by mid morning. We then headed to Pinewood Hills - the lovely retirement community where my grandparents have lived for almost a year now. What a great place! We joined my grandparents for lunch and a long overdue afternoon visit. We came back every day to visit and catch up. My grandparents just adore Emily and my grandfather proudly toured us around the "community" introducing us to all his friends. He is such a social butterfly! Now, I know where I get that from...Emily really warmed up to them and during our lunch with them one day - she even serenaded the dining room with Twinkle Twinkle! My grandmother was also a little redhead-so she has such a special place in her heart for our little Em! They were quite disappointed that Jackson was not able to make the trip - hopefully next time.

On Monday, Mom and I took Emily (and her Bitty Baby - Abigail) to the American Girl Store for a little shopping trip! What a place to take a little girl...This will be a place we will have to drag Em out of in future years - now she was thrilled with going up and down the escalator! What a great day with three generations!

My grandparents could not have more thrilled with our visit and love us all so much. They also just admire and love our Mom (Linda) - they think of her as "a daughter" and even introduce her as that!! Just a reminder - my parents have been divorced for over 17 years and the Payne's are her former in-laws. Of course, we all know that our mom is the best in the whole world and Kelly and I could not be more grateful for EVERYTHING that she does for us - as a matter of fact - our trip to Dallas would not have been possible without her generosity and support! We love you-Mom! We look forward to seeing our grandparents again soon but in the meantime - I love just know how happy and well they are doing.

What a sweet reminder of how important parents and grandparents are in our life. What wonderful memories for my little Emily. And, the Punky Brewster hairbow, she is so going in the Gap casting call!
