It is that time of the year ~~parties, gift giving, baking ... but one of the events that Bret & I look forward to each year is the Christmas Concert at Parkland Preschool. We have been attending this extravaganza for the past five years (3 with Jackson & this is the 2nd with Emily). I have to admit I thought this year would be Emily's year... she had been practicing her singing every night at the dinner table and telling us how excited she was...about her upcoming performance. My Mom arrived on Wednesday evening (the 17th) so we were all able to attend the evening's festivities. We usually have to arrive quite early to get a seat in the church - the place fills up quickly.
The children always do a great job and I have to say our little Emily will probably not be standing in line for American Idol auditions... when she made her way to the stage - she got a terrible case of stage fright. She was as a cute as a button and very proudly walked back on stage with her big brother for the finale songs when all the Parkland alumni are invited on stage to sing. We then made our way back to Emily's classroom where we met picked up some goodies and then snacked on yummy treats that the church provided. For many of you that know us, you know that Parkland Preschool is truly a blessing to our family - they are some of the kindest people that I know and my children are better having attending preschool there...

Wendall, what a gorgeous picture of you! PS-loved the blackberry in hand, no doubt sneaking in a little work during intermission!
